Rodney A. McDavid, 64, of Carlisle Township, died April 10, 2023 in his home. He was born January 20, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio and for over 40 years was a skilled mason. Whether creating something new or making repairs, he was a perfectionist. He enjoyed Harleys, camping and had an artistic ability in drawing. Rodney had a giving nature, enjoyed the companionship of others, listening to music and playing the guitar and harmonica. He was a dog lover and always had man’s best friend by his side. Rodney is survived by his partner of 23 years, Lynette Frabotta; daughter, Connie (Nick) Papadakis of Lorain; grandson, Emmanuel Papadakis; brother, Larry McDavid; one nephew; 3 nieces; great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Daisy. He was preceded in death by his son, Brett McDavid; parents, Alva Ray McDavid and Linda L. Gagliardi and brothers, Michael “Mickey” and Randal “Randy” McDavid. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 4:00 pm until the time of a 6:00 pm memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Raymond Anglea officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. There are no gallery images.
