Rodney Dummitt, 74, of Elyria, passed away peacefully March 25, 2021 at University Hospitals, Cleveland surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec 3, 1946 in Vanceburg, Kentucky. For 9 years, Rodney served in the US Army and Ohio National Guard. He had been employed at Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 30 years. After retiring in 1998, he worked as a bus driver for Lake Ridge Academy. He loved a good golf game and had traveled with his wife to 6 of the 7 continents and all 50 states. Rodney is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Dummitt (nee Law); sons, Eric (Anna) Dummitt and Aaron (Joanna) Dummitt; grandchildren, Richard Dummitt, Brianna Dummitt, Manny Jauregui, Josh, Sierra, and Dakota Osbun; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Bryan and Blake; brother Charles “Bill” (Susan) Dummitt; sister Patricia (Jim) Gerhardt; sisters in law, Betty and Sharon Dummitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Emory and Agnes (nee Armstrong) Dummitt; brothers, Lovell “Gene” Dummitt and Estil “Ray” Dummitt. Friends will be received Monday, March 29, 2021 from 10:30 am until the time of an 11:30 am service at Christ Church, 1420 South Abbe Road, Elyria. Pastor Jovon Anderson will officiate. Entombment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. The family requests memorial contributions to Michael J.
