Ronald “Ron” Eugene Clawson, 87, passed away September 17, 2022 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born December 29, 1934 in Lodi, Ohio to Robert “Bob” Eugene and Goldie Corinne (nee Coats) Clawson. He married the love of his life, Georgia Ann Heuser in 1957 and was married 65 years. Ron and Georgia lived in Ohio, Arizona, Japan, California, Alabama and returned to Ohio after retirement. Ron was a 1953 graduate of Elyria High School and attended Kent State University. He joined the US Navy in April of 1955 and proudly served his country as a Radio Operator. He also served in the United States Coast Guard for 10 years and taught radio school in Petaluma California. After leaving the Coast Guard he had a career as an outside salesman for 25 years with Central Garden in California and Alabama. After retiring, he and his wife Georgia ran several successful online businesses right up until he passed away. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed computers, history, vintage cars and reading. Ron is survived by his wife, Georgia; daughters, Terri Swift and Linda Prishker; grandchildren, Melissa Jonyka, Nicole Davidson, Bryanna Hohn, Ian Roessler and Jacob Davidson; five great-grandchildren and a brother, Tom Clawson. He was preceded in death by parents, Bob and Goldie Clawson and a daughter, Kim Clawson. A memorial service will be Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Brighton Township Cemetery, Brighton with Reverend Kathryn Ketchum officiating. Military Honors will be presented by Elyria VFW #1079 Honor Guard. There are no gallery images.
