Ronald S. Long, Jr., 65, of Elyria, died August 27, 2022. He was born October 15, 1956 in Elyria and was a 1975 graduate of Elyria High School. He had been employed as an assembler at Ford Motor Company, Avon, retiring in 2022. Ron was a former director of Lake Erie HOG and a life time member of the Harley Owner’s Group, Stinger Medina Chapter 3609. He was involved in multiple charities, including Poker Runs for the APL and Toys for Tots. In addition to riding his motorcycle, he enjoyed attending car shows. Ron is survived by his siblings, Peggy S. Wilson of Amherst, Richard D. (Julie) Long of Elyria, Pamela J. (Hal) Marquardt of Elyria, Russell A. (Robin) Long of Elyria and Penny M. (Edward) Spurlock of Prospect, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Ronald S. Long, Sr. Friends will be received, Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Keesee of Midway Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery at a later date.
