Ronald Dyke Obituary
Ronald D. Van Dyke, 94, of Elyria, died December 22, 2021. He was born September 23, 1927 in Irwin, PA, moving to Elyria in 1942 and was a 1945 graduate of Elyria High School. He then served with the US Navy during WWII. Ron had been employed for 42 ½ years at Lear Romec-Division of Crane, retiring in 1993 as Production Control Manager. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Elyria and Elyria Lodge # 787 F. &A.M. where he had served as past master twice. Other interests included golf, bowling, fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the world. Ron is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred (nee Keller); sons, Douglas (Susan) of Elyria, Mark (Sarah) of Ashland, Timothy (Theresa) of Elyria Township, Steven (Lenore) of Elyria and Daniel (Linda) of Bellevue; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Shirley Sexton of Longwood, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Hazel Van Dyke; and a brother, Tilford Van Dyke. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 3:00 pm until the time of a 4:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Laurie A. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
