Roxie Cantley Obituary
Roxie V. Cantley (nee Wyatt) 79, of Elyria, Ohio, died March 18, 2017. She was born August 1, 1937 in Thomas Springs, TN and was a 1955 graduate of Cumberland County High School, Crossville, TN. For 17 years, she was employed in the produce department at Apples in Elyria. Roxie was a member of East Broad Street Church of Christ, where she was a bible school teacher. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and served on the County Council. Roxie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold R.; daughters, Nancy (Glenn) Scarborough and Cheryl (Larry) Hunnicutt, both of Elyria; grandchildren, James, Alex, Jeffrey and Valerie Scarborough and BJ, Thomas and Zachary Hunnicutt and Angela Pisani; great grandchildren, Olivia Scarborough, Axl Hunnicutt and Sophia and Thomas Pisani.; brothers, Donald (Diann), Douglas (Oda), Carlos Dewey (Marilyn) and Delmer Wyatt and a sister Peggy Welch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay & Ova Wyatt; brothers, T. C., Charles, Ralph, Dexter and Dennis Wyatt and a sister, Essie Simmons. Friends will be received Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at East Broad Street Church of Christ, 1125 East Broad St., Elyria.Friends will also be received Friday, March 24, 2017 from 11 A.M. until the time of a noon service in the church. Minister Harold Reddick will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.Memorial contributions may be made to the church or The American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, OH 44106.
