Roy C. Squires, Jr., 64, of Vermilion, died Friday, January 20, 2012 in his home.He was born May 11, 1947 in Colver, PA. Roy was a 1965 graduate of Elyria High School and served with the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.He was employed at U.S. Steel in Lorain and then retired from Norwalk Furniture Company in 2009. His joy was spending time with his granddaughter Briella.Roy is survived by his daughter Rianne (Nick) Haff of Wichita Falls, TX; granddaughter Briella Haff; sisters Beverly J. Renner (Robert) Amstutz of Avon and Arline (Keith) Weyenberg of Danbury, WI; brothers Cary (Sandy) Squires of Elyria and William (Caroline) Squires of Moncure, NC and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his daughter Bethany Rae Squires in 2004; father Roy C. Squires, Sr. in 1982; mother Frances M. Squires in 2000 and a sister Alma L. Squires in 2009.Friends will be received Monday, January 23, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH 44035. Friends will also be received Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the time of a noon funeral service in the funeral home. Pastor Nick Haff, Roys son-in-law, will officiate.
