Ruth Demyan Obituary
Ruth M. Demyan (nee Spanos), 89, of Elyria and formerly of Avon, died August 10, 2020 at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was born August 1, 1931 in Avon and was a graduate of Avon High School. For 22 years, Ruth was employed at Real Cleaners on Middle Avenue in Elyria and had also been canteen manager at Avon VFW. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Elyria and Elyria United Polish Club. Ruth is survived by her son, Greg P. (Mary) Demyan of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; daughter in law, Gina Demyan of Amherst; and a sister, Irene (Glen) Ziegman of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John Demyan II in 1993; son, John Demyan III in 2005; parents, Peter and Sabina Spanos; sisters, Rosemary Noga, Virginia Engler and Delores Spanos; and brothers, Adelbert, Andy and Joe Spanos. Friends will be received Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 9:30 am until the time of an 11:00 am funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Charles T. Diedrick officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
