Ruth M. Rothel (nee: Corts), 86, of Elyria, died March 23, 2013 at The Cleveland Clinic. She was born June 12, 1926 in Elyria where she had been a life long resident. She enjoyed boating and fishing and spending time at family cottages on Lake Erie.Ruth is survived by a son, Dennis (Deborah) Rothel of Lorain; grandchildren, David (Ann) Rothel of Elyria, Kristi (Jim) Lockhart of Nashville, TN, William (LaTaunia) Kelly of Sullivan and Jason (Kelsey) Kelly of Elyria; great grandchildren, Ashley Rothel and Jack Lockhart and a brother, Robert J. Corts of Elyria.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise M. Kelly in 2012; parents, Robert and Helen Corts; sister, Margaret Simon and brothers, Richard and Jack Corts.Friends will be received Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria where a funeral service will be held Thursday March 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Jonathan McCleery, pastor of LaPorte United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501, Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
