Sandra Bruhn Obituary
Sandra Sue Bruhn, 65, went home to be with her Lord November 15, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 4, 1946 in Lorain to Clayton A. and Jean E. (nee Hunter) Bruhn. She graduated from Admiral King High School in 1964 and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain. She graduated from Oberlin School of Commerce and during the Vietnam War, was employed by the Agency for International Development in Washington, DC. Sandra received a masters degree from Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, WA and a masters degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, OH. She graduated as a registered nurse from M.B. Johnson School of Nursing in Elyria and worked as a traveling nurse in several states and later for the Lorain Cooperative Ministry.She enjoyed making crafts, quilting and making gifts for family and friends. Sandra is survived by a sister Linda (John) Martin of Lorain; brothers Michael L. (Sueellen) Bruhn of Vermilion and Tom Bruhn of Lorain and nieces, nephews and cousins, including her caregiver, Jean A. Baker of Elyria. She was preceded in death by a brother Clayton Chip Bruhn in 1987 and her parents. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH 44052 with Pastor Jimmy W. Madsen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church or New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
