Shakyla Nicole Henry, 11, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully in her mother's arms February 1, 2016 at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus. She was welcomed joyously into the Henry-Morris family February 8, 2004, and will be remembered for her big heart, infectious smile, off-beat singing with grandma, and spiritual blessing to her family and friends. Shakyla was a student at Colerain Elementary School where she was loved and adored by all. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and puppy "Chubbs" astonishing those around her with her graceful presence.Shakyla will be sadly missed by her mother Jotrell Henry; two brothers Qumane Tarrant, and Semaj Tarrant; her god sister Dejanaye Jones; her uncles Eric Henry (Paulette) of Lorain, Eleon Henry of Elyria, Darsel Morris of Elyria, Jimmy Fenderson of Washington, DC, Elijah Morris III of Lorain, and James Tarrant of Elyria, her aunt Deedee Tarrant of Lorain, her grandparents Elijah Morris Jr. of Elyria, and Regina Henry-Morris of Columbus; her great grandmother Florida Dickerson of Elyria, her close cousin Yolanda Henry, and a host of family and friends that stood united with Shakyla along her journey.She was preceded in death by her grandparents James Otis Tarrant and Ozelle "Granny" Tarrant; her great grandfather LT Henry.A viewing will be Monday, February 8, 2016 between 12:30p.m. 2:30p.m. in celebration of Shakyla at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Come celebrate on Her Birthday!
