Shirley Ann Wesebaum (nee: Longfield)Shirley Ann Wesebaum (nee: Longfield), 89, of Elyria, died, October 31, 2017 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain. She was born April 19, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been an Elyria resident since 1950. She was a 1946 graduate of East High School, Cleveland and attended Fenn College. Shirley loved her family and was an amazing advocate for the developmentally disabled. She was a member of the Parents and Friends Group of Broadview Developmental Center and The Ohio League For The Mentally Retarded. Shirley was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church and an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Shirley is survived by sons, Paul A. (Hollis) Wesebaum of Southlake, Texas and David E. (Virginia) Wesebaum of Sheffield Village; four granddaughters and five great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty four years, Paul E. in 2005; daughter, Lois Ann in 2001; sister, Phyllis Asher in 2008 and parents, Edwin and Florence Longfield.A graveside service will be 10:00am Saturday, November 11, 2017 at The Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. Reverend William Mugnolo will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Murray Ridge, 1091 Infirmary Rd., Elyria, OH 44035, Bethesda Lutheran Communities, 600 Hoffman Dr., Watertown, WI 53094, or a charity of choice. Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
