Steve Parks Obituary
Steve Parks, 64, of Elyria, died May 9, 2019 at his home. He was born May 23, 1954 in Jellico, TN and was a 1972 graduate of Elyria High School. Steve was raised in Caryville, TN and had lived in Elyria for the past 48 years. From 1975-2009, he was employed as a molder and foreman for the Elyria Foundry. He was a member of NSRA, had an interest in classic cars, and attended car shows in the area. When his children were younger, he enjoyed attending their sporting events and cheering them on. Steve was a wonderful family man, and will be missed by all who knew him. Steve is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy; children, John Parks, Staci (Matt) Hemlinger, and Steve Parks; grandchildren, Bryan, Emily, Michael, Natalie, Jackson, Penelopii, Olivia, Eylam, and Christopher; brother, Jim (Joan) Parks; sister, Jeannie (Ron) Baird; and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewleen Sigmon; father, John L. Parks; brothers, Doyle, David, Donald, and Dennis Parks; and sister, Phyllis Boyce.Friends will be received Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm followed by a time of reflection and remembrances from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A gathering will follow from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Elyria Elks, 246 2nd Street, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
