Teresa Marie “Teri” Huffman (nee Strader), 62, of Elyria, died April 20, 2020 from complications of COPD and MS. She was born August 27, 1957 in Amherst and had been a 1975 graduate of Oberlin High School. Teri had a special love for the elderly and was employed at several nursing homes in the Lorain area since she was 19 years old. In 2014, she retired from The Abbewood, Elyria. She loved all animals, big and small, especially giraffes and cats. She enjoyed Facebook, coloring online and making people laugh. Teri was a devoted daughter who did everything she could for her parents. Teri is survived by her devoted husband, Richard L. “Rick” Huffman of Elyria; beloved parents, Clark and Betty Jo Strader of Amherst; a brother, Robert “Bob” Strader of New Berlin, WI; her cat, Zorro; and her cockatiel, Chicken. She was preceded in death by her brother, Derek “Rick” Strader; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Vertie Rafferty; and paternal grandparents, David Strader and Lina Strader Bennett. Teri gave the gift of life to others by being an organ and tissue donor. Per her wishes, she was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
