Thelma Peterson Obituary
Thelma G. Peterson (nee: Stone), 82, of Lorain and formerly of Elyria died August 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 23, 1934 in Duffield, Virginia and moved to Birmingham, Ohio in 1960. From 1969 to 1974 Thelma was employed in the Central Service Department at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and from 1974 until retiring in 1999 she worked as an EKG Technician at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was a former member of the Elyria Moose Club and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading, working crossword puzzles, sewing and traveling. Thelma is survived by a daughter, Paula A. DeMarco of Vermilion; sons, Eddie R. Peterson of Lorain and Roger D. Peterson of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brandon DeMarco, Christine Sanders, Tanya Glover and Joshua Peterson; great grandchildren, Julie, Krystal, Jacob, Matthew, Hailey, Aubrey and Ally; sisters, Helen Hornbeck of Elyria, Glenda Lane of Vacaville, CA and Betty Davis of Duffield, Virginia; brothers, Gary Stone of Maryland, Ernest Stone of Vermilion, Martin Stone of Gastonia, NC and Jake Stone, Jr. of Duffield, Virginia.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ethel Stone; sister, Ruth Shephard and infant brother, Robert Stone.Friends will be received Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of a 3:00 PM memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Chaplin Melvin M. Sayler will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingston of Vermilion Activities Fund 4210 Telegraph Lane, Vermilion 44089.
