Timothy A. Simon, 63, of Vermilion and formerly of Elyria, died Monday, August 13, 2012 after an illness of several months.He was born April 6, 1949 in Elyria and was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School. Tim was most recently employed as a bartender for 12 years at Chez Francois Restaurant in Vermilion. He enjoyed spending time by the lake and was a former member of V.F.W. Post #7576 and AmVets Post #22, both of Vermilion. Tim was a loving son, brother and uncle and is survived by sisters Roberta (Gregory) Grude of Wakeman, Patricia (Jeff) Strickler of Berlin Heights; brothers Richard (Monica) Simon of Vermilion and Michael (Jaye) Simon of Wakeman and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father John in 1994; mother Margaret (nee Corts) in 2010 and brothers John in 1979 and Thomas in 1997.A graveside service for the family will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township with Reverend Ralph F. Schibler, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
