Vangeline Ann Lindell (nee: Johnson)Vangeline Ann Lindell (nee: Johnson), 91, passed away July 18, 2017 after an unexpected health crisis. She was born in Elyria Good Friday, March 26, 1926. Vangeline was a 1944 graduate of Elyria High School and worked as an inspector in a factory during World War II. She married her childhood best friend, David O. Lindell in 1946 on his return home from serving in the Navy at the end of World War II. They were dedicated to each other and married for seventy one years. Their life adventures took them to Searcy, Arkansas for twenty one years, then Las Vegas, Nevada before they retired and returned to Elyria.Vangeline was a member of the Presbyterian Church for fifty seven years and formed many loving friendships through her church activities. She enjoyed gardening, birds, writing poems, sewing, puzzles, and keeping in contact with her loved ones via cards and letters.Vangeline was a loving supportive mother and grandmother survived by her husband, David O. Lindell; daughters, Dana Petrarca and Valerie Trice both of Las Vegas, Nevada and Laura Lindell (Kenneth Harden) of Elyria; grandchildren, Heather Deede, Ryan Trice and Emily Harden; sister, Diana Nightingale of Arizona, brother, John J. Johnson of Florida and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, James J. and Frankie Mae Johnson; sisters, Mary J. Crowell and Dorothy M. Smith.There will be no services. Memorial contributions are suggested to First United Presbyterian Church, 200 East Avenue, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria 44035.
