Verne Potter Obituary
Verne E. Potter, 86, of Elyria, died September 30, 2019. He was born August 17, 1933 in Elyria and has been a life long resident. He was a 1951 graduate of Elyria High School and served with the United States Navy from 1953 to 1954. From 1958 to retiring in 1992, Verne was employed by the United States Postal Service in Elyria. He was a 60 year member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Elyria, an avid reader, and enjoyed taking car trips. Verne is survived by his son, Mark E. Potter of Elyria; and a granddaughter, Laura Potter-Sadowski of North Ridgeville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Janet L. in 1991; and his parents. Friends will be received Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A memorial remembrance will be a part of the scheduled 10:30 am Sunday service October 13, 2019 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 300 Third Street, Elyria with Reverend June Hardy Dorsey, Rector officiating. Private burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
