Virginia Butcher Obituary
Virginia E. Butcher, 90, of Elyria, died November 2, 2022 at Wesleyan Village. She was born November 17, 1931 in Valley Chapel, Lewis County, WV and was a 1949 graduate of Weston High School, Weston, WV. Virginia moved to Elyria in 1953 and for 12 years was employed at The Elyria Telephone Company. She was a member of Abbe Road Baptist Church where she served as financial secretary for 38 years. She was also active in Little League North. Virginia is survived by sons, Dan (Kim) Butcher of North Ridgeville and John (Jennifer) Butcher of Grafton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Francis B. in 2008; son, William A. Butcher; grandson, Cass Burton Butcher; parents, Charles and Mary Atkins; brother, Charles Atkins and a sister, Betty Huntz. Friends will be received Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Friends will also be received Monday, November 7, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of an 11:00 am funeral service at Abbe Road Baptist Church, 670 Abbe Road North, Elyria with Pastor Cal Searles officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Church Planters, 36830 Royalton Road, Grafton, Ohio 44044. There are no gallery images.
