Walter Samuel Summerland's Obituary
Walter Summerland Obituary
Walter Samuel Summerland, 48, of New London, died August 28, 2015, at his home in New London, Ohio, surrounded by love, after a short battle with cancer. He was born September 18, 1966 in Bellevue Ohio to Madeline Mary Summerland (nee Laws) and Jack Eldon Summerland and was a graduate of Monroeville High School. Walt was a jack-of-all-trades. He had been a semi-truck driver, seeing much of the United States and he worked for his brother, Jack Summerland, painting houses. He also worked for Huron County as a heavy equipment operator. Walt lived in many places throughout his life. In fact, he had many friends in Bellevue, Monroeville, Norwalk, and Sandusky just to name a few. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; his favorite activity was riding his motor cycle, and he had a close friend named Doc who helped him through some exceedingly hard times, showing him that there is more to life. Because of his friend Doc, Walter moved on to a happier, more loving place in life. Walters heart was so big that he made a family where there once was none and he found true love and peace in that family. He also realized what true friendship is when he found Malachi Yoder, and they soon became best friends and brothers very quickly. He was very thankful for that friendship. Walter is survived by his significant other Dawen Fox; children Daina (Matthew) Weiker, Ryan Carroll, Raven Summerland, Robin Summerland, Reahanna Summerland, and adopted daughter Katina Yoder; grandchildren Damion, Nathan, Adrian, Anna, Izaiah, Farrah, and Bentley; siblings Jack (Tracy) Summerland, Patricia Summerland, Gay Anne (Leonard) Stevens, Linda Jean Schmidt, Jackie May Cook, Theresa Annett, Glen Eldon Summerland, Ted Summerland and Curtis Jack Summerland and 22 nieces and nephews.Walter was preceded in death by his father Jack Eldon Summerland and his mother Madeline Mary Summerland (nee Laws).A celebration of Walters life will be Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Kipton, Ohio.
