Walter S. Worley, 85, of Sun City, AZ and a former longtime resident of Elyria, left this life and went home to his field of dreams June 24, 2013.He was born May 31, 1928 in Wilder, TN, and served with the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.He was employed at Harshaw Chemical Company in Elyria for 38 years, retiring in 1990 Walter was a member of Elyria American Legion Post 12.and enjoyed fishing and golf.After moving to AZ in 1994, he played softball with the Sun City Seniors League, where he received the award as Most Valuable Player.Walter is survived by a son Lyn A. Worley of Lake Station, IN and daughter Dawn M. Day of Mesa, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy A. Worley (nee Williams) in 1999; second wife Fran Worley; brothers William A. Worley, Jr. in 2012 and Forest E. Worley in 1950; sisters Nannie Ray, Marie Drake, Grace Smith, Ruby Marrow Thomas and Agnes Smith and a grandson Dustin M. Worley in 1981.Family will receive friends Friday, July 12, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a 3:00 p.m. memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria.
