William F. Bill Milchen, 62, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly in his home Thursday, February 28, 2013.He was born May 26, 1950 in Elyria and was a 1968 graduate of Elyria High School. He received a bachelor degree in history from BGSU in 1972 and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He has been a resident of Lorain for the past 39 years.Bill was formerly employed as a salesman for American General Life Insurance in Lorain and had also worked at Stanadyne Corp. in Elyria. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain and enjoyed people watching, NASCAR, football; was an OSU fan and loved his pet dogs Oscar and Abbey.Bill is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda J. (nee Dovala); daughter Michelle L. (Mike Brown) Milchen of Lorain; brothers Andrew (Nancy) Milchen, Jr. and Michael (Meg) Milchen, both of Elyria and James Milchen of St. James, TX. Also surviving are mother-in-law, Dorothy Dovala of Lorain; brother-in-laws Wayne Dovala of Lorain and Dennis (Lori) Dovala of Amherst; sister-in-law Cindy Dovala of Elyria and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.He as preceded in death by a daughter Nicole Lynne in 1976; son Nathan William in 1981; father Andrew P. Milchen in 2010, mother Sophie M. (nee Kroll) in 1993 and father-in-law Emil Dovala in 2010.Friends will be received Monday, March 4, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH with Reverend Jimmy W. Madsen, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League of Lorain County, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
