William Pass Obituary
William E. Bill Pass, 88, of Elyria, died October 16, 2015 at Ames Family Hospice House, Westlake, Ohio.He was born April 29, 1927 in McRoberts, KY. As a young man, Bill worked in the Kentucky coal mines. From 1945 to 1947, he served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. In 1952, he moved to the Lorain/Elyria area where he was employed at Ford Motor Company, Lorain Plant, retiring in 1988. Bill was a member of Elyria American Legion Post 12 and a 55 year member of Church of Christ in Lorain. Bill had a positive attitude and would enthusiastically discuss the bible with others. He and his wife were generous people who gave to numerous charities. He was a loving, caring husband and father who adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.Bill is survived by his daughter and caregiver Kathlene (Russ) Weiss of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Lisa (Jason) Cooper of Amherst, Michelle Hall of Vermilion and Joseph (Morgun) Carstensen of North Ridgeville; great grandchildren Ethan, Jaydan and Mikayla Cooper, Zoe Hall and Sadie Carstensen and sisters-in-law Opal Hall and Eddie Mae Daniels.He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Liza Pass March 22, 2015; parents Reese and Naomi Pass; son Harold Hall; sisters Grace (Joe) Dominiquez, Stella (Burl) Anderson and Mary Stafford and a brother Glen Pass.Friends will be received Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A service will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. in the mausoleum at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, with James Hiser officiating. Elyria V.F.W. Post 1079 will present military honors. The Pass family offers a special thanks to Ames Family Hospice House for their compassionate care.
