William "Bill" TiszaBill Tisza, age 86, of Elyria, and formerly of North Ridgeville and Fairview Park, passed away peacefully January 16, 2018 at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Westlake.Born April 7, 1931 in Cleveland to the late Hungarian immigrants John and Marie Tisza, and younger brother to the late John Tisza, Bill graduated from Cleveland’s West Technical High School. He attended Ohio State University where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. While at Ohio State, he met his wife, Ruth Bischoff on a blind date and were later married during August of 1953. They enjoyed 59 years together before Ruth’s November 2012 passing.Bill is survived by his son Jeff, daughter Lynn, granddaughter Lauren, and nephews, Dennis and Terry.For many years, Bill owned and operated Leader Drug Store in Olmsted Falls. He enjoyed, and actively participated within his fellow Hungarian, Ham Radio, Ohio State Pharmacy alumni, the WestShore Pharmaceutical Association communities, and his local neighborhood.Perhaps more deeply than anyone will ever know, Bill cherished the exceptionally good company of his beloved and faithful dog - Sophie. Friends will be received Friday April 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of a 11:00 AM memorial service, to celebrate Bill’s life at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria, Ohio 44035.Memorial offerings may be made to The WestShore Pharmaceutical Association, 385 Woodcroft Trace, North Royalton, Ohio 44133 for the Bill Tisza Scholarship Fund to help support Pharmacy Students at Ohio State.Alternatively, memorial offerings may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
