William Diedrick Obituary
William Edward Diedrick, 86, of Elyria, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.He was born May 19, 1926 in Elyria and attended Elyria High School. He was a lifelong Elyria resident and was employed at Bendix Westinghouse in Elyria for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in Italy during the World War II era and enjoyed NASCAR racing, woodworking, planting flowers and landscaping his yard. William was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria, American Legion Post 12, Elyria V.F.W. #1079 and Elyria Amvets Post 32.He is survived by daughters Eileen Sommer of Elyria and Yvonne Wehman of Naples, FL; sons Clark F. Diedrick of Pahrump, NV and Kelly Anchors of Sarasota, FL and six grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Mae (nee Anchors) Diedrick in 2008 and parents Elmer and Harriett Diedrick.Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 from noon until the time of a 1:00 p.m. funeral service in the chapel at First United Methodist Church, 312 Third St., Elyria, OH 44035. Reverend Dalton Love will officiate and burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township with Elyria V.F.W. #1079 conducting military honors at the grave.
