William Keisler Obituary
William F. Keisler, 90, of Elyria, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at Wesleyan Village. He was born June 17, 1921 in Elyria and was a 1939 graduate of Elyria High School. He served with the U.S. Army 12th Air Force in North Africa during World War II.Bill was employed as a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years, retiring in 1977, after which he worked for 15 years at the Chronicle Telegram.He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was a former usher and had served on the vestry. He was also a member of the 97th Bomb Group Reunion Association and the 414th Bomb Squadron, a life member of Elyria V.F.W. #1079 and a 66 year member of Elyria American Legion Post 12. Bill had also been a coach and umpire in Little League North. Bill is survived by his wife Phyllis Mae (nee Dostal) whom he married November 18, 1961. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Inez Keisler and a brother Carl Keisler. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. November 17, 2011 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 300 Third St., Elyria.Reverend Catherine L. Wright, rector will officiate.
