William Gannet, Sr. Obituary
William J. Gannet, Sr., 85, of Elyria, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his home. He was born September 16, 1925 in Cleveland and had lived in Cleveland and Litchfield, before moving to Elyria in 1962. He was employed in sales in the plumbing and heating department at Sears Roebuck & Company, from where he retired and then worked at Target Stores for several years. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and had enjoyed traveling with his wife. William is survived by sons William J. (Susan K.) Gannet, II of North Canton, OH, Mark S. Gannet of Elyria and James L. Gannet of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Fletcher of Litchfield, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, MaryLou in 1993 and stepbrothers Nick and James Jurgeson. Friends will be received Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Monday 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry L.
