William M. IgnatzWilliam M. Ignatz, 95, a life long Elyria resident, died April 2, 2019. He was born April 25, 1923 in Elyria and attended Elyria High School. Bill was formerly employed at Western Automatic, then for 25 years at Fruehauf Trailers, followed by Tappan Company and Invacare. He was a life member of Magyar United Church of Christ, now Community of Faith United Church of Christ, where he was a faithful maker of Csiga noodles. He was a former coach for Elyria Little League South and enjoyed golf, gardening, and woodworking. Bill is survived by his daughter, Elaine Ignatz of Houston, TX; son, Bill (Jane) Ignatz of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Greg (Sarah) Voelcker, Lauren (Scott) Minze, and Tad (Kerry) and Ty (Jama) Ignatz; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) Weaver, Chandler Minze, and Kiera, Ava, Tripp and Knox Ignatz; and a sister, Esther Runkle of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth “Betty” in 2009; parents, Mike and Esther Ignatz; and brothers, Louis and Nick Ignatz.Friends will be received Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A service will be Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Reverend Kathryn Ketchum officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community of Faith United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
