William Ray Keener, 79, of Grafton, died April 1, 2015 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.He was born April 11, 1935 in McClellandtown, PA and was a 1954 graduate of German Township High School. From 1958 to 1960, he served with the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. For the past 22 years, he has been a resident of Grafton, moving from Elyria.Bill was employed for 41 years at Crane-Lear Siegler Company in Elyria, retiring as an inspector in 1997.He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria where he was a communion usher and past president of the Ushers Association. Bill was a member of LaGrange Lodge #399 F. & A.M. and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland. Other interests included woodworking, quilting and travel.Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carrie J. (nee Sesler); daughter Beth (Dan) Robinette of Grove City, OH; son Bruce (Sharon) Keener of Canton, MI; grandsons Justin (Brandie) Keener and Jordan Keener; great granddaughter Isabella Keener; step granddaughters Erin (Jim) Martin and Jessica Robinette; brothers Donald (Mary Catherine) Keener and Nelson (Diana) Keener and numerous nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents William and Lucy Keener and a sister Delores Barnes.Friends will be received Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 10 to 11:45 A.M. in the Asbury Room of First United Methodist Church 312 Third St., Elyria where LaGrange Lodge #399 F. & A.M. will conduct a Masonic service at 11:45 A.M. A 12 noon service will follow in the church sanctuary with Reverend Roger G. Talbott and Reverend Dalton D. Love officiating. Elyria V.F.W. #1079 will present military honors. A burial service will be April 11, 2015 at 3:30 PM at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, 44110 or First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
