William R. Latta, 74, of Elyria, died July 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness.He was born October 31, 1941 in Corning, Ohio. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Elyria High School and a graduate of Ohio State University, where he had played baseball for both schools.For many years, Bill has been the manager of Spitzer Hardware in Grafton. He enjoyed all sports, especially attending the sporting events of his great grandchildren in addition to playing cards.Bill is survived by his longtime companion, Charlotte and loving family, Brian (Shawn) Alley, Julie Alley, Jim (Bonnie) Alley, Yetty Lombardo, Brianne Smith, Cheryl (Jon Fekete) Alley, Jessica (Dan) Tighe, Danielle Alley, Evan and Caden Smith and Jonathan Fekete.He was preceded in death by sons Daryl and David Alley; mother and stepfather, Jean and Bill Kazmierczak and brothers Gary and Jack Kazmierczak.
