Wilma Mihalis,(nee Keramidas), 97, of Elyria, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at her home.She was born January 31, 1915 in Thisvi, Greece and came to the United States in 1926. She was employed for 38 years at Brandau Jewelers in Elyria, retiring in 2004. Wilma was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain, which her father and husband were founding members and was a Sunday school teacher, Greek school teacher and member of the Philoptochos Society. She had been active in her childrens school P.T.A., the YWCA and the Two Oclock Club. Wilma is survived by daughters Rita Ward Vandengoorbergh of Vermilion and Rosalie Mihalis of Elyria; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Sam S. Mihalis in 1978; son Stephan Mihalis in 2009; grandson Stephan Mihalis in 2010; brothers Kosta and Sam Keramidas and parents Harry and Phyllis Keramidas.Friends will be received Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 5 p.m. until the time of a 7:30 p.m. Trisayion service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd., Lorain, OH. Reverend Michael C. Gulgas will officiate.
