Brian C. Heathcote, 57, of Elyria, died April 24, 2014 at this home. He was born June 28, 1956 in Elyria and was a 1974 graduate of Elyria High School.Brian was employed as a corrections sergeant/counselor for 25 years at the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction at Grafton Correctional Institution.He was a member of the Elyria Eagles Club and was looking forward to traveling after his retirement. Brian is survived by a brother Jeffrey (Linda) Heathcote of Elyria; sister Barbara (Thomas) Hadaway of LaGrange; nieces Jennifer and Julie Heathcote; nephew Christopher (Dawn) Heathcote; five great nieces and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by his father Harold “Archie” Heathcote in 2000 and his mother Marguerite “Marge” Heathcote in 2012. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A graveside service will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Reverend Josh Moldenhauer, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Oberlin will officiate.
