I didn't spend a whole lot of time with Mr. Smith, but I will always remember him with a ready smile on his face. How he was my partner in cards and we got to 100 first. But unfortunately is was - 100! But, he was a great sport about it. I will miss playing Uno with him and him calling the color "Boo." I will also miss seeing him as I drove by the house. I would see him sitting in the garage or working in the front yard or taking out the trash cans, or moving his truck. I want Mrs. Smith to know that if she needs anything at all, I am a short drive away and all she has to do is call. My heart goes out to the entire Smith and Bally family at this time of great loss.

To all the Smith Family, We are saddened and will keep all in our prayers for the loss of your dad. He was a fun person to be around, always had a beer close and shared it with us. He was the first I knew of that hooked up a tap through the basement fridge to keep the keg cold! A great pool and card player. He will be missed. Dear JoAnn, Jeff and Jessie, Becky, Cathy, Rick and Billy ... It was with great sadness to read in the Online version of the Chronicle today of Earl's passing - I have many cherished childhood memories of happy times spent with the entire Smith family - I especially remember sunbathing with Becky and Earl coming home from work - taking one look at us and then saying with a chuckle (he had such a great sense of humor!) "Turn over girls - I think you're about done on this side!" I know you will miss him! May God send His Angels to surround your family during this sad and challenging time - Love, Deb
