Edward Masonis Obituary
Edward R. Masonis, 89, of Elyria, died, July 31, 2019 at Brookdale Medina South in Medina, OH. He was born June 17, 1930 in Elyria and spent most of his childhood in DuBois, PA where he was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Following graduation he signed with the New York Giant Baseball Organization as a pitcher and played in the minor league. After baseball Ed returned to Elyria where he owned and operated Ed’s Plumbing for over forty years. In his leisure time you would find Ed working in the yard. He enjoyed gardening and watching the birds at the feeder and in the bird houses he put up. Ed is survived by a son, Edward Masonis of Lodi, OH; daughter, Deborah Mayo of Haskins, OH; five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty one years, Kathryn in 2011; parents, William and Caroline Masonis; brothers, William, Joseph and Albert Masonis; and sisters, Aldona Masonis, Helen Dombrosky and Mary Urban. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, DuBois, PA.
