Eileen Craven Obituary
Eileen M. Craven (nee: Brown), 84, of Elyria, died August 22, 2014 in her home. She was born November 22, 1929 in Elyria and had been a long time resident of Sheffield Village. Eileen was a 1947 graduate of Brookside High School and received associate degrees in both Arts and Business from Lorain County Community College. She was a former property manager in Elyria and also at Firelands Retirement Center in Lorain. In addition to being an avid reader, she had a life long interest in music and enjoyed playing the piano and listening to classical music. Eileen is survived by daughters, Lynda Davis of Elyria and Janice (Steve) Farber of Reno, Nevada; sons, David Carstensen of Reno, Nevada and Larry (Maria) Carstensen of SanAntonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson; sister, Nancy Brown of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Edward Bud Brown of Sheffield Village and step-children, Ron, Jerry and Candace Craven and Barbara Rees.She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Craven in 2007; parents, Edward and Leona Brown, Sr.; son, James Carstensen and sisters, Marilyn Wilson, Sally Altheide and Joan Perry.Friends will be received Tuesday August 26, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Mr. Doug Johnson of Church Of God World Wide Association will officiate. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery, Sheffield Village.
