Frederick C. Knepper, 71, of Elyria, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at EMH Healthcare with his family at his side.He was born January 28, 1942 in Elyria and was a 1960 graduate of Elyria High School. Fred was employed in the service department at Parker Hannifin Corp. from 1979 until retiring in 1994. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, was an avid sports fan, enjoyed spending time with his family and communicating with family and friends on his computer.Fred is survived by his wife of 52 years; Jacqueline L. (nee Crowell); daughter Julie (Dale) Alheit of Elyria; sons Jeff (Lisa) Knepper and James (Terry) Knepper, both of LaGrange; grandchildren Amanda and Alex Alheit, Rachal (Michael Dick) Simmons, Brittney, Jeffery, Melissa, James and Gage Knepper; sisters Kay (David) McCord of Denver, CO and Carol (Denis) Wells of Walla Walla, WA.He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Dayle Jacqueline Alheit and parents Fred and Jewell Knepper.Friends will be received Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Dalton D. Love officiating.Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
