Sorry to hear about Pastor George. You are in our prayers!
Pastor George was one of the few people who could hold my interest in church . We were with him in Cleveland and my step mom found him in Elyria again . He married her and my father . He blessed our family with his prayers and wisdom occasionally . My condolences to his family . Prayers out to you all from the Harbert family
From the moment I met this amazing man, he showed so much love and compassion. He told me how grateful he was to me for raising his granddaughter and that he considered me, my husband, and all of our children to be his family from that moment on. I've been so honored and blessed to share many wonderful memories with him over the past 10 years. One of my favorite memories was when he insisted on coming to make his homemade ice cream with my kids after our Sunday church service. Watching him interact with them so patiently truly melted my heart.
He treated all 6 of my children like they were his blood family. He made a special trip to see my beautiful daughter get baptized despite living an over an hour apart.
We planned a big get together to meet his daughter and some other grandchildren a few years ago. He made sure we all knew how special we were to him by choosing different items around his home for us to have that had sentimental value to him. Each item he chose had a beautiful story that he told with such emotion. Grandpa Shiltz even sat on the floor as a man in his 80s with model cars just to show my 3 boys all the features each car had and shared the memories that he had with each car. Then let them each choose one to take home showing us how much he loved and cared about us too.
The day I met him, he asked me for all of our birthdays so he could write them down. He never missed a single birthday call or holiday wish those 1st 5 years after we met him until he became ill.
We will forever cherish his memory in our hearts because our lives were so enriched just by knowing and loving him.
Rest in Heaven Grandpa Shiltz till we meet you there.
Love always and forever,
The Speck family
How could I ever pick just one memory? I loved coming to spend some of the summer with grandpa & grandma and helping with his church's VBS.

Being asked to join grandpa for his apple butter making event at his old church. Was such an amazing day.

I remember as a child Reverend Shiltz running the cafeteria with Vangie Hughes -those were days of HARD WORK!!😊as an adult he was my neighbor at Sychar many years - great is his reward in heaven and now he’s reunited with his wife and other loved ones. Well done good and faithful servant!
I know the Lord Jesus Christ because of my father, Rev. George Shiltz. It is the greatest gift any father could give his son. Thank you, Dad, for giving me the Lord❤️
