Gerry Scrivens Obituary
Gerry Scrivens, 65, of LaGrange, died unexpectedly October 13, 2021 doing one of the things he loved, playing golf. He was born February 22, 1956 in Elyria and was a 1974 graduate of Elyria High School. He was also a 1978 graduate of The College of Wooster and received his MBA from University of Phoenix. Gerry served with the US Air Force and flew an A10, then with the Air National Guard flying a C130, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was later employed by FedEx as a captain where he flew a 767. For many years, Gerry had been a longtime platelet donor. Upon his death he was a full organ donor. He was a talented woodworker, enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and scuba diving. Gerry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vikki (nee Simonson); sisters, Terri (Dave) Quester and Cheri (Doug) Felton; and nieces and nephews, Brian, Bradley, Brandon and Rachel Quester and Paul and Matt Felton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Lois Scrivens. Friends will be received Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from noon until the time of a 2:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Kathryn Ketchum will officiate. Elyria AMVETS Post 32 will present military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
