I have two fond memories of Jim. The first when he gave an historical talk at the North Ridgeville Library. He was an excellent teacher. The second was when with difficulty he brought his wife's delicious food to my friend's house. You could not find more thoughtful or kinder people in this world. Barb King, R.N.
One of my favorite Jim pictures. Back in the days when we celebrated our Feb. birthdays down on the farm. This little guy was born on Jim's birthday and came to be known as Jim. Will miss your phone calls in the spring to check on all the cows and will always remember our time spent together and all the good times we had. Loved our game nights even though you always won and talking to you about history. Always learned something new. RIP Jim, you are so missed. ❤️
Mr. Smith was one of the most greatest humans this world will ever know. Always a smile and warm greeting. A friend to all who encountered. I've have the pleasure of knowing him since meeting Greg long ago. Thank you for introducing me to gobbly gork (sorry if misspelled). You will be missed by so many but your memory will be carried forever. Love always to you and your precious family.

I have many fond early memories of eating jelly beans from a dispenser on his back porch at his house near Oakwood Elementary. And similarly seeing him speak in Cascade Park. My Uncle Jim had a warm, smart, and kind presence about him and I will sincerely miss seeing him at family events. Love you Uncle Jim 💜
