Marilyn Vandemark Obituary
Marilyn Ann Vandemark (nee Wagner), 82, passed away peacefully November 26, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born March 20, 1937 in Elyria to J. Houghton and Dorothy Wagner (nee Rawson). Marilyn was a 1955 graduate of Elyria High School and an life long Elyria resident. From 1972 until retiring in 1997, she was employed by the Elyria City Schools as the secretary at McKinley Elementary School. She loved to cross stitch and for many her memory will live on in the beautiful pieces she created for them. She was also known for her delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies and loved when friends enjoyed her baking skills. Marilyn is survived by a daughter Kathy (Terry) Korzan and a son Jim Vandemark both of Elyria; sister, Linda (Charles) Sooy of Vermilion; grandchildren Robert, Neil, Kaitlin, and Jared; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Lexi, Tessa, Dexter, and Gage. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 55 years, Robert G. in 2016. Friends will be received Monday December 2, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria with Reverend Stacy Terrell officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
