I was kid on Mrs Keressi's bus route on Robson Rd from when I started kindergarten in 1990 until a friend started driving me to school in 2000. She was the type of adult that you were on your best behavior around because you didn't want to disappoint her and have to write "I will be quiet on the bus" 100 times! This was always more of a threat than an actual punishment though. Once I did spend an evening writing it out and handed it into her the next more. After that, whenever she would tell the entire bus to write it out I would ask her when I was getting off the bus if I had to write it and she would let me know that I did not. I will always remember her smile in the morning when I would get on the bus and the rides home towards the end of the school year. I would also look forward to running into her at the fair almost every summer. Even years after I graduated she would stop and talk with me. Mrs Keressi left an indelible mark on my life and the lives of all the kids on her routes. I hope one day my kids have a bus driver as caring and thoughtful as her.
