I originally met Mr. Dempsey in Scouts. When Tom and I joined Troop 101, I thought I knew everything about Scouting having been a Den Leader and Cubmaster. Wow! Was I wrong. We hit it off right from our first meeting. From then on we lead the troop together, then the Venturing Crew. We Camped together at Firelands Scout Camp and Philmont and many other locations and our families became close friends. While Bob slid out of Scouting a few years back, we remained friends and in communication often. Bob was an example of leadership. He taught us all to plan ahead, consider options, respect nature and other people! He changed the lives of many young people and their families not only in Scouting but in our community. He garnered the highest level of respect ALWAYS! As I have remained in touch with many of our former Scouts and their families I can attest to the lives he has influenced...Scouts, their parents, children and grandchildren. I often see Bob in their eyes when they are sharing their experiences. His influence will be felt for many generations to come! Rest in Peace, my friend!
Bob will be missed by many...known and unknown. He always had a smile and words of wisdom. What a knack he had for fixing any appliance...old or new! We are honored to have called him our friend! The world has lost a wonderful man with a great spirit! Laurel and John Ryan
Mrs.D and family, Our prayers that you have strength today to see you through this difficult time, and be filled with wonderful memories of you husband and father. Kendall & Marlene Galloway
Mr. Dempsey helped me more than once when he didn't have too. Many years ago he made service calls to my house and kindly fixed my dryer and another time my stove-all I had to tell him was I was disabled. Even though it was hard on him he was wonderful and very good at what he did. It made me feel God's Love and kindness when there was none in the world for me. Sure he charged me ,but he also "charged" me with Hope. I always will remember my catastrophes differently because of him and the way he was. My condolences to his wife, Paula and his family.
Paula, Greg and Families, We are so sad to hear of Bob's passing. We will forever miss his smile, his sarcasm, his quick wit, and his knowledge of appliance repair. Most of all we will miss his love of family and friends. Rest well our dear friend. You are missed. Much Love Always, The Pittmans
My sincerest condolences and prayers to all of the family. My father owned Bill Baker's and always enjoyed my time with Bob when I would go on a service call with him and be in awe of his vast knowledge when repairing appliances ! God bless to the family.
