William “Bill” Leitner, 64, a resident of Elyria Township, passed away unexpectedly at his home March 3, 2019. Bill was born February 17, 1955 in Oberammergau, Germany, where his father was stationed in the armed services. After returning to the states in 1956 he resided in Brighton until moving to Elyria in 1966. Bill was a 1973 graduate of Elyria High School, where he met his wife, Laura.He was employed at Parker Hannifin as a machinist/team leader for 43 ½ years before retiring in 2017. He enjoyed bowling, camping and traveling.Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Laura Leitner (nee Repas); daughters Leann (Josh) Freeman of North Ridgeville and Rebecca Leitner of Sheffield Lake; son James Robert Leitner of Elyria; brother John (Jean) Leitner of Elyria; and 6 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Charles Leitner and mother, Ann Leitner Sime.Friends will be received Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Findley State Park, P.O.
