Bill was an old research colleague and a friend. I hadn't heard from him for many years, but have just learnt of his demise. He was a cheerful and thoughtful person with whom I had many very interesting discussions regarding the formation of the Solar System, primitive meteorites and the components that are found in meteorites. As he moved through life, Bill made constructive contributions to our understanding of the Universe which were appreciated. He was modest, kind, and respected by his peers. I am very sorry that he has passed away.
